There’s no one-size-fits-all for small businesses. Employees often wear many hats and processes vary depending on the department. When implementing mobile applications at companies of this size, a good amount of flexibility and functionality is required if the technology is going to make a real impact.
Talent Plus is a talent assessment partner that helps organizations improve their culture one hire at a time. Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, the company has 150 employees, plus offices in Asia and Latin America. Talent Plus began using Salesforce CRM about four years ago. The launch of the Salesforce1 Mobile App has allowed its team to access the tool how and where they most need it.
“It brings everything you've worked hard to build into the one app. You don't lose out on the functionality. People always have their phones with them and can make the most of their time. They can go into Salesforce and get stuff done wherever they are,” says company value manager and Salesforce Admin, Natalie Regier.
Keep reading for five areas where the Salesforce1 Mobile App has made the biggest impact for Talent Plus:
“My philosophy is ‘turn it on and go,’” says Regier. Since rolling out the Salesforce1 Mobile App at Talent Plus she has continually received feedback from employees that the tool is so intuitive and easy to use, they don’t even need training to get started. “It’s okay to go live, then train. It helps build interest before the class," Regier adds.
“Our biggest value from the Salesforce1 Mobile App comes from using the custom objects we’ve created,” says Regier. These were built with clicks, not code, and include the ability for employees to access and view client records, and a custom tool for requesting materials. “Wondering where to start? Find commonly used spreadsheets or your outdated intranet,” adds Regier.
Because the Salesforce1 Mobile App works seamlessly on both Android and iOS, Regier doesn’t have to worry about being fluent in one or the other. She can set up and train employees on whichever mobile device they prefer to use.
Regier says Talent Plus leadership has also responded well to the Salesforce1 Mobile App, especially because of the reporting value the dashboards offer within the app. They now have access to metrics at their fingertips they “never had or even thought about having.”
When situations arise where Regier is training employees on the Salesforce1 Mobile App, there is no need for special tools or equipment. It can be done from anywhere. “You just pull it up in your browser add /one/one.app after your standard salesforce URL and it brings up the same view of the mobile device on your computer,” says Regier.
