Athough Dreamforce is all about the human, face-to-face experience, there was still plenty of news on the data front, especially for marketers. Here are three insights.

1. It's still all about the data

Data.com's Andy MacMillan discussed increasing data quality during the Data.com keynote. The concept of a CRM system automatically updating and correcting data was the most important thing to come out of last year's Dreamforce, and today, it's about clean data. "If it's clean, everyone wins." says Andy.

2. Huge influx of APIs changes lead scoring forever

APIs for devices and sensors changes the game for everyone. Being able to create the "Managed Customer Voyage" and add checkpoints for lead nuturing adds a new layer of relevance for marketing automation.

3. Arrival of the SuperPod

Marc Benioff and HP President and CEO Meg Whitman announced dedicated HP hardware to allow Healthcare, Financial Services, and Government entities to have dedicated instances of Salesforce.com's multi-tenant cloud, powered by HP’s technology. This taps into trends like cloud, mobility and big data.
