At Salesforce, we consider the environment to be one of our key stakeholders. That’s why we are committed to harnessing our culture of innovation to improve the state of the world. This year at Dreamforce ‘18, we’re excited to host our first-ever Climate Summit, highlighting the incredible progress being made by environmental Trailblazers all around the world.
Just two weeks before Dreamforce, Salesforce will be a major sponsor of the Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS). This conference will bring together the world’s climate leaders in our hometown of San Francisco to discuss bold new commitments around climate change solutions. The Climate Summit at Dreamforce will bring the spirit of the GCAS to our Dreamforce attendees!
With a full day of programming on Thursday September 27, the Climate Summit at Dreamforce will focus on climate and oceans, both inextricably linked to the health of our global communities and economies. Attendees will hear from some of the most innovative Trailblazers and learn first-hand how collaborations between businesses, governments, and individuals can drive meaningful climate change solutions.
We have an amazing lineup of global leaders sure to inspire attendees to create positive environmental change in their communities, including:
Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States and current Chairman of Generation Investment Management, will discuss his most recent work and highlight how businesses and communities are driving innovative environmental solutions.
Sylvia Earle, Ph.D., renowned marine biologist who has dedicated her life to protecting the ocean and its wildlife will offer her perspective on the importance of preserving these incredible natural resources.
Adrian Grenier, actor, filmmaker, and social advocate will speak to his most recent project, the Lonely Whale Foundation, which has facilitated several successful campaigns to reduce the amount of plastic ending up in our oceans, including the #StopSucking campaign.
Rhea Mazumdar Singhal, CEO of Ecoware Solutions, India’s first and largest manufacturer of eco-friendly food packaging, was identified as one of 100 of the world’s brightest under 40 by the World Economic Forum and will speak to her experience as a Young Global Leader.
A host of other corporate sustainability leaders from companies like Lyft, Unilever, and adidas will share the bold environmental commitments they’ve made through their business models and engagements.
With these events just a month away, we’re also thrilled to announce the release of a new trail on Trailhead called, “Create a Sustainable Future”, empowering our greater Ohana (employees, customers, partners, and other stakeholders) to become climate champions in their everyday lives. The trail covers everything from Salesforce’s climate action strategy to tangible examples of how businesses, governments, and individuals can make more sustainable decisions to positively impact the globe.
We hope our environmental journey has inspired you to join us for these important discussions. And to learn more about sustainability at Salesforce, visit salesforce.com/sustainability.
