Let’s face it. New releases have a way of sneaking up on us, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up.

We know that you likely want to learn about the hottest new features that could solve a long-standing pain point or business problem, but just don’t have the time to put everything on hold to sit down and read through more than 500 pages of release notes.

We totally get that.

All you really need is a little bit of time — even if it’s only 30 minutes — to get the highlights of our latest release, which made its first appearance in preview sandboxes on May 5th. Explore these two tips to get up to speed on the latest new features, fast. Many of these game-changing new features can be enabled with a simple click of a button.

1. Do a “Quick Scan” of the Release Notes

Use filters to display only the sections that relate to the Edition and Products you currently use. Also, look for features that are “enabled for users” first. For Summer ’18, the format of the release notes has been redesigned to make it easier for you to digest.

2. Dig for Treasure in Your Sandbox

The Sandbox Preview for Summer ’18 started earlier this month, so if you have a sandbox that has been upgraded, login and start discovering some new features in action. Or read what other customers are excited about in the Trailblazer Community Treasure Hunt. We highly suggest you add your own contribution, too.

Do those two things and you’ll learn a great deal about our Summer ’18 release with a relatively small time investment.

Now that you’ve gotten the lowdown, stay in-the-know by joining the Release Readiness Trailblazers Community Group, where you will find the full list of available resources in the sidebar. All questions are welcome, and we even produce a newsletter, Picks from the Pack, to help you stay up to date.

You can also get the resources and tips you need to ensure success with the next Salesforce Release by signing up for the Getting Started with Release Readiness series — three well-timed emails that will give you step-by-step guidance and helpful tools for creating a release strategy that works for you and your organization.
