The end-of-year always represents an interesting time for anyone in the tricky position of managing and planning marketing budgets. You’re often stuck between planning for the next year and with using all the available marketing dollars you may have left before the end of the current year.
One great way to use those extra dollars is to channel them into a video project. We here at Veed.me have put together a list of relatively straightforward and cost-effective videos that you can produce for the end-of-the year that will make a great use of those leftover floating dollars:
One simple video you can make is a short sequence which highlights some of the user generated activity from your fans/followers on social networks. This can be a way both to highlight insights around your product/service area or to celebrate positive feedback and reactions. There are a lot of pre-existing motion graphic templates that make producing this type of video pretty easy and “plug and play”. You can use these videos internally to celebrate your successes on social or illuminate important insights.
Examples:
Rough budget estimation: $2K-$5K
Similar to the first example, a short infographic video which highlights major achievements or stats of the company over the past year is a great way to share important information with employees, investors, and partners. Much more compelling and digestible than the typical financial reports and more. Sometimes these videos can also be shared publicly.
Examples:
Rough budget estimation: $3K-$6K
We’ve been tooting our horns on the importance and value of doing testimonial videos for months, but it bears repeating. Testimonial videos keep visitors on your site longer and increase the likelihood that they will make a purchase. It’s also more authentic to hear how great your product/service is directly from your customer’s rather than from yourself. And of course, one of the best things about them is how affordable they are, since they don’t require actors or special effects.
Examples:
Rough budget estimate: $2–4k per video (focused on one client each)
Sometimes you really want to get a pulse on how consumers think and feel about a certain topic, and quantitative data doesn’t always cut it. This past year we’ve been producing tons of quick-hit “man on the street” research videos for brands and companies who want to get direct insights and feedback directly from their target consumers. With Veed.me’s global network of videographers in over 180 cities around the world, you can reach basically any market. This can be great to do at the end of the year in preparation for any initiatives you want to gain insights around in preparation for the next year.
Examples:
Price: $3–6k for a 3–4 minute video highlighting 10–15 respondents
This one you can probably do for free, even with just an iPhone. It involves simply going through your office and having employees give a short thank you message around the holidays, as an appreciative gesture for your clients.
Example:
Price: Free to $1000
With just two months left in the year, now is a great time to take a look at those marketing budgets and see the best way to squeeze more value out of them. We believe that these video projects are a great way to do so.
