The September 2016 Release is Now Live in the Marketing Cloud!
There are some powerful and much anticipated updates to Marketing Cloud across our Studios and Builders with this release.
The wait is over--Journey Builder Audiences is now GA. Now customers who use Lists and Data Extensions can activate those audiences as the entry event into a journey. Also, Journey Builder has been struck by Lightning! Check out the new UX.
Also with this release, we are excited to add new testing capabilities in the new Email Send Flow of Content Builder for our hard-core Email customers. Content Builder will also become even easier to use with 20 out-of-the box templates. You asked, we delivered!
Let’s jump into the highlights:
1. Lightning Experience in Journey Builder: Journey Builder is now even easier for our customers to use. With the new Lightning UX in Journey Builder, there is now a simplified Dashboard and Canvas with color-differentiated activities/entry sources and a new, slick navigation that mirrors other Salesforce apps. 2. Journey Builder Audiences: With the new Journey Builder Audiences, you can simply select a list you are already using from Email Studio, Mobile Studio or even Automation Studio, to add customers to a journey. Learn more!
3. Test Send to Test Data Extension: Customers now have the ability to send a test email to a sendable test data extension in the new Email Creation Flow. Learn more!4. Out-of-the-box Templates: Customers can now build emails even faster. With this release, Marketing Cloud is offering 20 new out-of-the-box templates in the Email Creation Flow. In addition, customers can easily set or change styles for the entire template or email, including mobile styles. Learn more!
5. Mobile App Approvals: Customers can now submit, review and approve Content Builder emails directly from their mobile device with the Marketing Cloud Mobile App. Please note that in order to get this functionality, an administrator must enable Approvals for the account. The Marketing Cloud publishes a new version of the Mobile App approximately two weeks after each release, pending Apple review. Learn more!6. Content Builder with CloudPages: CloudPages customers can now use the Content Builder editor to create a landing page. Learn more!7. Beacon Marketing: Beacons allow customers to deliver push messages based on a user’s proximity to a bluetooth LE beacon. The easy-to-use beacon template allows customers to quickly choose their app, locate their beacon, and create a push message. Please note that Beacon templates will be made available for all MobilePush customers soon after September 14th. Update to the latest SDK when it's available next week for the most up-to-date beacon functionality in your app. Be sure to always stay up to date with the latest SDK by subscribing to our SDK alerts. Automation Studio Lightning Activities: No more jumping back and forth between Email Studio and Automation Studio; now you can streamline the process by creating your data activities and workflows all in Automation Studio.
