Can you believe it? Day 2 is already drawing to a close and we're almost halfway through the four-day adventure that is Dreamforce. But before you head off to the Dreamforce Gala and dance the night away with Bruno Mars, here are the 5 major highlights from today, in case you missed it.

The Customer Success Platform

Taking the stage in the afternoon, instead of his customary morning time slot, Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff outlined a bold new direction for the Salesforce brand: The Customer Success Platform. Tying together the best in class solutions for Sales, Service, Marketing, Community, Analytics, and Apps closer than ever before, the Salesforce Customer Success Platform has everything you need to make connections with your customers that truly matter.

The Salesforce Analytics Cloud

Announced on Monday, the Salesforce Analytics Cloud, code-named Project Wave, has already made a splash in the business intelligence market. It’s analytics for the rest of us: a beautiful user interface designed to make interpreting and using business data easier and more intuitive than ever before.

Salesforce1 Lightning

In addition to the beautiful new Analytics Cloud, Salesforce also revealed Salesforce1 Lightning. We’re in an increasingly multi-device world, so Salesforce created Lightning to make it easy to build responsive applications for any screen. Lightning includes a number of exciting tools for developers, such as:

  • Lightning App Builder: Build apps visually using off-the-shelf and custom-built Lightning Components
  • Lightning Components: Re-usable, self-contained UI elements for Force.com Apps

Using these technologies, you can seamlessly customize and easily deploy new apps to mobile devices running Salesforce1.

Hillary Clinton Tackles the Issues

Sharing the stage with the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton kicked off the morning with an optimistic discussion of the issues facing the bay area, the country, and the world. With a focus on improving government, society, and technology, Clinton encouraged the audience to read to their children, focus on giving back, and commit to finding common ground with people they disagree with.

Still to Come: Bruno Mars and Cake

Dreamforce wouldn't be complete without and all-star musical performance, and this year we have not one, but two! Come enjoy the musical talent of Cake and dance the night away with Grammy Award winner Bruno Mars!
