Attract and inspire amazing people. That’s the #1 priority of the salesforce.com Employee Success team. How do they accomplish this awesome task? By fostering a more human, less corporate environment. This means empowering employees with mobile and social tools, built on the Salesforce1 Platform.

Central to this endeavor is the ES team’s innovative approach to providing support and services to staff, known as #dreamjob central. This intranet portal offers 24/7 global support for salesforce.com’s team of 13,000. Employees can go to this social hub to access articles about benefits and compensation, learning and development, systems and tools, and more. They can also share ideas and get answers to questions from ES specialists or by crowdsourcing.

Predictive analytics gathered from #dreamjob central help ES anticipate needs and proactively respond with things like related knowledge articles or additional specialists during peak periods. The versatility of the Salesforce1 Platform means that throughout the employee lifecycle salesforce.com is able to build and use its own applications, from on-boarding and training, to goal-setting and performance management.

Salesforce.com Senior Director of Employee Success Shared Services, Jeannene Michel, who is also responsible for #dreamjob central, shared a few additional examples of the custom applications that ES and IT have developed to make employees' work lives easier:

VolunteerForce - The 1/1/1 model and giving back is a significant part of the culture at salesforce.com. Employees can use this application to locate volunteer opportunities, sign up, and track their donated time.

Recruiting - This app offers dashboards that detail the number of resumes received for a job, how many candidates are being considered, where prospects are in the interview process, pending hiring approvals, and more.

Time-Off - This Salesforce1 Mobile App serves as a way for employees to request vacation time from anywhere. Their managers then receive a notification on their smartphones and can approve the days off, all within the application.
