Command centerMany people may think of Dreamforce as a sales and technology conference. We beg to differ. Dreamforce is a must for marketing professions. Here are five reasons why.

1. The Introduction of ExactTarget Marketing Cloud

This year we are taking marketing to the next level with ExactTarget Marketing Cloud.  Learn to listen with Radian6, publish with Buddy Media, advertise with Social.com and now have fully integrated marketing with email, mobile, social and sites capabilities brought to us by new acquisition ExactTarget.  Learn about ExactTarget as a 1:1 customer platform and what that means for building your business. Get prepped and more knowledge by watching ExactTarget president, Technology & Strategy, Scott McCorkle's keynote at ExactTarget Connections, regarding what is on the horizon for the product line here.

2. Marketing Cloud Keynote

Scott_dorseyAt the Marketing Cloud keynote on Wednesday, 11/20 at 12pm, we are lucky to be featuring Scott Dorsey, CEO of Exact Target, and now CEO of the Marketing Cloud.  Who could teach you more about the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud, and marketing in general than the ExactTarget co-founder?  Scott co-founded ExactTarget in 2000 with a vision to help organizations use the then-emerging medium of email to connect with their customers and drive business results. Since its founding, the company and its technology have grown to power the digital marketing campaigns of many of the world’s leading brands across email, mobile, social media, and the Web.  Scott has been featured on the world’s top media including CNBC, Fox Business News and the Wall Street Journal among others.  Scott will hit on the company’s mission to inspire and enable organizations to leverage the power of digital marketing to deliver phenomenal business results.

3. Everyone Brings their A-Game

All of the 350+ partners at Dreamforce are pulling out all the stops.  This is the prime time for them to shine.  What does that mean?  They will be marketing themselves the best that they can with innovation, unique shiny objects and more.  Who can forget Data.com's Flash Mob from last year? Marketers can take this opportunity to get inspired, to see best practices and even find partners to improve their marketing techniques and opportunities.

4. The Social Media Command Center is Back and Better than Ever

2012 Social Media Command CenterLast year was the first year that we showcased the Social Media Command Center at Dreamforce.  This year the command center will be back with a vengeance.  Expect additional centers and more hands on opportunities to understand and learn what you are seeing on the screens.  Love the Command Center enough to want one as your own?  You now have the opportunity to purchase a Social Media Command Center for your own company to make sure that you have your hand on the pulse of your company's social presense.

5. More Practical Sessions

This year we have over 80 Marketing Cloud dedicated breakout sessions.  Content within these sessions has evolved from previous Dreamforce conferences with the evolution of our products.  This year, while we will continue our strong focus on thought leadership, we will also move beyond social. W are looking at email, mobile and web and how these areas of marketing can generate real results and increased ROI.  Last year over 11,000 attendees participated in at least one marketing session, and this year we expect an even larger percentage of the overall attendees to be looking to these sessions to improve their businesses.
