Recently, the salesforce.com Careers
team offered style advice for our male workforce (current and prospective) with
the help of men’s fashion authority, Trunk Club. Gentlemen, click here to read the guy style tips.
Ladies, now it’s your turn. This time around we called on one of our own forces of style from within the company, Mai Tran, who always looks like a million bucks. Mai graciously took time out of her demanding schedule as Senior Manager of Social Marketing to share the following guidance on dressing for success – complete with vast Pinterest boards for further inspiration.
For
the Office
“Bring out the color and flair with a classy approach at the office. Play
up your femininity while looking confident. My go-to office look is an A-line
dress, tailored blazer and stiletto pumps, all finished with a 48-inch pendant
necklace, stud earrings and a statement ring.” Check out the look here.
For the Company Event
“Keep it chic and professional with a little black dress, patent leather
peep-toe pumps and a bright clutch for a pop of color. Accessorize with flirty
statement jewels.” Check out the look here.
For the Job Interview
“Dress according to the culture of the company you’re interviewing with. Stay
away from sleeveless tops, open-toe shoes, revealing too much skin, and glaring
labels/brand emblems. Play it safe with solid versus print pieces, and keep
colors neutral (black, grey, navy). You are your own brand so wear what you
represent. My winning interview outfit is a black pencil skirt, cream-colored
silk blouse, black fitted boyfriend blazer, black pumps and a simple necklace.” Check out the look here.
MAI'S FALL MUST-HAVES
“I love solid-color staple pieces for layering and perfect accessories that can finish a polished look,” says Mai, who shares her three gotta-have-its for the season.
1. Silk Blouses
Stock
up on basic colors and opt for more solids than patterns. “Makes it easier to layer and mix and match.”
2. Platform Pumps
She’s
got her eye on a pair in snakeskin with a hint of purple and black. “You can
bring a little bit of texture and color out in your basic little black dress.
Be subtle, yet bold.”
3. Pleated Leather Wrap Belt
“Every
woman needs a black wrap belt!” declares Mai. “It brings shape to any dress,
coat or tunic, plus the cost per wear on this fabulous item is priceless.”
