I love walking through the doors of Salesforce Tower from a busy New York City street. The minute you walk in, you are greeted by an office with the distinct Salesforce feel: open, warm, and collaborative. And today, as the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Sales of our New York office, I have another thing to love — Crain's New York has named us one of the best places to work in New York City.

There's no doubt, Salesforce New York really is a great place to work. Our employees hail from all parts of our business, from technical, marketing, product, and legal, and everything in between. We're a vibrant microcosm of our greater employee community, that reflects all of our city's diversity and community. I must add, the view from our beautiful Salesforce Tower overlooking New York's Bryant Park is amazing. As a native New Yorker — I am, of course, biased — but I think our New York offices are second to none.

It's been very special to be part of what's happening here. Just this past May, employees from four different offices in the city moved into the Tower. Week by week, month by month you could feel the energy and camaraderie of these different groups coming together as one. Our growth has meant new Ohana Groups, Salesforce's term for employee resource groups (ERG); we now have 11. We pioneered the Ohana Fest equality event to drive allyship, inclusion, and diversity.

All of us in New York are very active with service and volunteer work, determined to give back to this amazing city. We sponsor 4 schools: Brooklyn Collaborative, PS 277, PS 51, and MS 247. Much of our work is focused on helping bridge the technology divide but we're always looking for other creative ways we can support teachers and children to learn and grow. Our employees are also dedicated to the Leukemia Society's annual Light the Night walk. Last year, our hub was the number two corporate team in Manhattan, raising well over $200,000. We have terrific participation in New York's annual Pride parade, which I expect to get even bigger next year when World Pride Day takes place here.

On a personal level, the Crain's award is very meaningful to me. I remember moving back to New York from Salesforce HQ in San Francisco back in 2004. There were four of us crammed into one room with no windows. Sometimes it's hard to believe we now have a tower, in one of the best locations in Manhattan, with a sign on the side of the building you can see while driving up 6th Avenue. I'm proud of the talented group of employees who work here, the ways we come together to give back, and look forward to doing more great things with each other in the future.
