In the opening keynote, Keith Block, Salesforce Vice President, Chairman, and COO, took the stage to discuss the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its profound impact on society, particularly due to the advances in artificial intelligence and the explosion of Big Data. The companies that are able to take advantage of these technologies, while putting the customer at the center of their world, are positioned to innovate in a way that we've never seen.
We also met Zac Otero, three-time certified Salesforce Admin (and the original golden hoodie!). Zac worked a blue collar job as a machine operator, but was looking for a better, more secure way to support his family. He discovered the Salesforce community, and dove right in — now he's the Salesforce lead at his company. His advice? “Lean into the Trailblazer community, none of us have experienced anything quite like the community”

We also introduced some exciting new announcements, including Salesforce Integration Cloud, which enables you to connect every system, every customer, and every device, to create a hyper-connected customer experience and exceed your customers' expectations. The new Salesforce Integration Cloud includes a set of services and tools that make it easy for customers to surface their data — regardless of where it resides — and deliver intelligent, connected customer experiences across all channels and touchpoints. Integration Cloud will have three layers: Integration Platform, Integration Builder, and Integration Experiences.
Lightning Flow is a new Salesforce Lightning Platform service that empowers any business to create and extend the power of process automation to any customer or employee experience. By applying the power of low-code, drag-and-drop functionality to customer engagement, Lightning Flow delivers an innovative new way for businesses to realize the benefits of process automation — including reduced wait times for customers, digitized business workflows, and improved team productivity. Now anyone can declaratively build and embed component-based processes, Lightning fast.
And you can make every app smarter with Einstein Analytics and Quip Live Apps. With advances in AI and app integration, business users can now embed intelligence directly into their apps and gain instant access to additional capabilities that keep their business moving forward in just a few clicks.
Tony Prophet, Salesforce Chief Equality Officer, began by sharing some of Salesforce's own equality journey, speaking about the company's equal pay assessments, and highlighting the exciting launch of Outforce in India — Salesforce's employee resource group for LGBTQ employees and allies.
Next, he was joined onstage by Betty Reid Soskin, National Park Ranger, activist, and equality Trailblazer for an intimate fireside chat. At 96, she is the oldest active National Park Ranger. She spoke about growing up as the only black family in her community, in a time “when the successful woman had her first child by the time she was 25. Working women did not exist.”
We ended day one with the incredible opportunity to witness a live fireside chat with Salesforce co-founders Marc Benioff and Parker Harris. The two talked about meeting for the first time, building trust in the beginning while facing skeptics, and their advice for entrepreneurs.
And Parker shared his mantra that he's had since Day 1 at Salesforce:

Emily Chang: Emily is an anchor and executive producer at Bloomberg TV, and the author of BROTOPIA, the acclaimed new book which put a spotlight on the staggering gender inequality in the tech industry — addressing how it got there and how to foster real change.
Shonnah Hughes: Shonnah is the co-founder of PepupTech, a nonprofit helping underserved students learn the skills and gain the confidence needed to begin careers in tech. She is also a Salesforce MVP who has been working with the Salesforce Platform for more than 10 years.
Mayor Ed Lee (posthumously): The late Mayor Lee devoted his career to expanding STEM education, among other important causes. Under his leadership, San Francisco Unified School District became the first district nationwide to require computer science for all grades. His vision and leadership will be remembered for generations to come.
Stevie Wonder: Multi-Grammy award winner and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Stevie is a philanthropist and humanitarian who has used his music to support a number of social causes. He is a designated UN Messenger of Peace with a special focus on persons with disabilities.
Evan Rachel Wood: The award-winning actress and Westworld star bravely shared her own #MeToo story on Capitol Hill, standing up for legislation protecting sexual assault survivors and advocating for other victims of abuse.
