When building the future workforce, you first need to imagine what the future of work will look like. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff recently spent time examining this topic, noting that while new digital technologies will change jobs, they'll also create new opportunities for both tech and non-tech workers.

Salesforce is jumping on these opportunities – starting with Futureforce's Scouts Program. This program offers new grads the inside track to a growing career field at the intersection of both Sales and Technology—Solutions organization. As part of the 6-month program, these Scouts will train together in our Indianapolis office, with the chance to be deployed to Salesforce offices across the U.S., interacting 1-1 with customers, partners, and prospects.

With roles spanning from Solution Engineering to UX/UI Design, this program aims to enable our future workforce through career development, continuous learning, philanthropy (grads get 56 hours of volunteer time-off!) and of course, the support of our Salesforce Ohana.

So what will this look like? Our Troop Leaders (aka hiring managers) share their road map:

Career Development:

As part of the Solutions Engineering organization, you are gaining valuable technology and business skills – and will be part of one of the fastest growing parts of the technology revolution. "Our Scouts will have the opportunity to engage in customer-facing work, including strategic projects and presentations,” shares Eric Sitzes, Director, Business Value Services. “As a Scout, you will be engaged in innovative business strategy work with senior leadership from various parts of our business."

Continuous Learning:

Do you value constant learning and sharing? So do we! “In today's fast moving, highly competitive environment, we believe that by investing in our Scouts learning and skills development, while exposing them to our one-of-a-kind culture of inclusion, equality, wellness and fun, that we will develop our next generation of talent,” says Sarah Roberts, VP of Solution Engineering, Small Business. “We're looking forward to providing our new grads with a detailed path to success, complete with tons of training and hands-on experiences.”

Ohana:

As part of the Scouts program, you'll gain a tribe of fellow college graduates who are embarking on this exciting journey with you. In addition, you'll gain guidance from mentors and build a community with your team. But don't worry, we don't take ourselves too seriously. “Ohana spirit runs deep in our team,” says Todd Janzen, VP, Q Branch. “We're a fun & lively bunch known for hosting giant food competitions, decorating desks for birthdays and being an awesome tight-knit family. If you're creative, hard-working, and ready for an adventure — come join us!”
