With Dreamforce just 41 days away, the Salesforce CPQ team is well on our way with plans to make DF17 the most informative, impactful, and fun Dreamforce yet. As you prepare for your Salesforce CPQ journey, let us help you plot your course through the vast Dreamforce wilderness with a few tips below.
If you're unfamiliar with Salesforce CPQ, Dreamforce will give you all the tools you need to understand how Salesforce can help you Configure (C), Price (P), and Quote (Q) your way to a more predictable and efficient revenue platform. CPQ is an important piece of the sales cycle that kicks off the Quote to Cash process, and drives critical data capture for revenue. For many companies operating without CPQ, collecting revenue is a burdensome mishmash of spreadsheets, emails, and disparate processes that frustrates sales reps and finance teams alike. What's needed is a more organized and accessible revenue platform. That's where we come in.
New regulations ASC 606 and IFRS 15 have given a more compelling reason than ever to get your CPQ organized and on the Salesforce platform. The new revenue recognition standards affect every company in every industry, and it is crucial to get started on now. Whether public or private, the interpretation of this new standard is going to be complicated and take time, so there is no time like the present to get going! For this reason, Salesforce CPQ is planning two sessions at Dreamforce to help finance pros start their ascent up the mountain of compliance. Salesforce CPQ customers who are already well into their compliance strategy will be there as trail experts to talk through how they've implemented technology to make the transition as painless as possible.
In addition, Salesforce CPQ has planned a slew of other Dreamforce sessions—29 in all!—to help you orient your business and start thinking about how to scale and automate your revenue platform and processes. These sessions, which will include theater, breakout, and discussion group formats, will cover topics ranging from Simplifying Your Sales Cycle and Accelerating Contract Negotiations to the rapidly growing world of Artificial Intelligence. On the first day of Dreamforce, we're also giving customers and partners the chance to network and discuss how to move forward with their CPQ implementations at a special meet-up that evening.
If you're looking for a chance to really explore the vast possibilities that Salesforce CPQ can provide, then watch for more info on our Hands-On-Training sessions and Demo Stations. In our Hands-On-Trainings, customers can walk through step by step exercises in a demo org to see how easy it is to customize and maintain CPQ. We'll cover things like building discount schedules, price rules, and product configurations—with clicks, not code. We'll have a great presence in the Expo with our demo station in the Sales Cloud area, as well as showcasing Salesforce CPQ in the Conga booth. Conga is an important partner of Salesforce CPQ that provides Contract Management, and we are excited to showcase how our CPQ and Contract solutions work together. These Hands-on-Trainings and Demo booths will provide customers and partners the chance to become more familiar with the CPQ tool and see how seamlessly it integrates with the Salesforce platform.
Finally, we will have a presence in the Sales Lodge in the Marriott hotel, where we are joining the Sales Cloud Lead-to-Cash solution. The Sales Lodge is a place where attendees can come to get outfitted for their Dreamforce adventure, and get the best overview of Salesforce CPQ. When you walk into the Lodge, there will be a Visitor Center staffed by Salesforce experts who will help guide you on a personalized journey of the World's #1 Sales Platform. We'll have demo booths and a workshop where you can sign up for a 1:1 consultation with a product CPQ. And being Dreamforce, the whole space will be wrapped in a layer of fun (think lots of cool swag and games)!
As you plot your own Dreamforce journey, be sure to include plenty of time to hit a few of these Salesforce CPQ stops and learn how we can help you in your Quote-to-Cash goals and objectives!
