For the second consecutive year, Gartner has recognized Salesforce as a leader in their recently released Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS) report. A recognition within the report calls out Salesforce1 Platform’s trusted reputation within the PaaS landscape.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrants are based on rigorous analysis, backed up by highly structured methodologies. According to Gartner, "In the enterprise aPaaS market, leadership implies an understanding of the demands of the enterprise and the opportunities of cloud computing, and a genuine commitment to enterprise cloud computing. A Leader must have demonstrated a market-leading vision and the ability to deliver on that vision." This news comes right on the heels of The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Public Cloud Platforms, Q4 2014 report that also ranks Salesforce as a leader.

"Year after year, the industry has recognized the Salesforce1 Platform as the go-to platform for creating cloud apps,” said Tod Neilsen, EVP and GM of Salesforce1 Platform.  “It gives companies the best of both worlds by combining the any-language flexibility and elasticity of Heroku for engaging customer-facing apps, with the point-and-click app building environment of Force.com to easily automate business processes and connect employees."

It’s time to double down on Salesforce1 Platform. Since 1999, companies have built over 4 million apps on the platform, taking advantage of the same technology that underpins Salesforce’s leading CRM apps.  So why do so many companies trust Salesforce with their business needs?

Apps are the way forward

The rise of mobile and wearable devices has led to an unprecedented demand for more mobile applications. Both employees and customers want access to relevant business information and products while on-the-go. Apps can solve that problem by not only connecting people with the data, but empowering them to interact with it. The Salesforce1 Platform helps companies build and deliver customized apps faster to connect employees, customers and products. Paired with fully-integrated offerings from AppExchange, your enterprise can join the next-gen app revolution, saving valuable time and resources. Your investment to build on the platform is future-ready, with automatic upgrades happening 3x per year.

Speed is key to business success

Many enterprise struggle to get the most from their legacy platforms in today’s IT environment, where change is a daily occurrence.  Systems of days past just aren’t well suited to rapid change.   Despite the demand for more apps, it usually takes IT 6-12 months to build and deploy an enterprise app. Much of that time is spent building infrastructure and assembling baseline services --  from physical servers to security, user  permissions, data models, workflow engines, and more. With Salesforce1 Platform, all of these services are provided, allowing IT to build apps faster than ever. In fact,  Force.com offers a simple, yet powerful set of point-and-click tools on the Salesforce1 Platform that anyone -- developers and business users alike -- can use to create apps for employees or customers, no coding needed. Salesforce1 Platform is the fastest path from idea to app.

Security and trust are a priority

The Salesforce1 Platform is the most trusted enterprise cloud platform. Moving your apps to the cloud has never been easier or safer. Conducting over 1.9 billion transactions a day, the Salesforce1 Platform is built on a flexible and robust architecture and used by some of the most heavily regulated industries in the world, including government, healthcare, and finance. Salesforce is committed to providing the highest level of security and control to customers. With real-time information on system performance and security, you can always be sure that your data is protected.
