You can also hang out with Desk.com at one of their three happy hours with Small Business Web. Happy hours take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 13-15 from 5:00-8:00 pm and you should RSVP for a spot. And celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early with Desk.com at Maggie Mae’s Irish Bar.
3. Join the No Phone Zone with Salesforce for Startups
For a SXSW party experience like no other, head to Off the Grid: A Party with No Phones. Hosted by Salesforce for Startups, along with General Assembly and Up Global, this party asks you to leave the technology behind for a distraction-free, retro good time.
Check it out on March 15 from 10:00 pm-2:00 am at Old School Bar & Grill (401 East 6th Street).
4. Hear from Pledge 1% and the Salesforce Foundation
There are two opportunities to hear from the Salesforce Foundation at SXSW. First, discover how leading companies Atlassian, Bazaarvoice, and Optimizely built corporate philanthropy into their culture. This panel is titled “Building a Movement of Corporate Citizenship” and takes place on Monday, March 16th from 3:05-3:30 pm at Trinity Hall.
This panel is hosted by Pledge 1%, a movement founded by Atlassian, Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado, and the Salesforce Foundation. Pledge 1% encourages and challenges individuals and companies to pledge 1% of equity, product and employee time for their communities. You’ll hear inspiring insights about the benefits of fostering a culture of corporate citizenship. Panel members include:
Jodie Ellis, Head of Experimental Marketing at Optimizely
Steve Goldsmith, Head of HipChat Engineering & Austin Site Lead
Dipti Pratt, Director, Pledge 1%, Moderator
You can also join the Salesforce Foundation during the United Nations Foundation's #2030NOW: Innovations for the World We Want sessions on Monday, March 16 from 4:00-5:00 pm at Trinity Hall. In the session "Creating a 'Digital Demand Commons' to Anticipate the Needs of 8 Billion People," you'll hear how public- and private-sector organizations are trying to build a "digital demand commons" platform to help the world prepare for the needs of a changing population.
This session focuses on the efforts of Project 8, a collaboration between the United Nations, the United Nations Foundation, the Demand Institute (jointly operated by Nielsen and The Conference Board), Salesforce, and Accenture. Presenters include:
