Dashboards, reports, and various other ways to view sales numbers can be amazing tools. But all of these methods are only going to be effective as the data within them. If that data isn’t reliable or accurate, the user can’t make solid decisions around it.
Ryder System, Inc. is an American-based provider of commercial transportation and supply chain management products, with operations in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Pre-Salesforce1 Mobile App, data integrity was being undermined because the company’s 50 field sales reps did not have a way to create activities or update opportunities while on the road. What the reps needed was a mobile tool that maximized the value of their time by keeping them out of the office, while giving them an easy way to report what they do day-to-day.
Here are four ways the Salesforce1 Mobile App has helped accomplish the above, and as a result, cleaned up Ryder’s sales data:
With the Salesforce1 Mobile App, Ryder’s field reps can now log activities on the road, instead of waiting until they return to their desks. Since implementation, the creation of activities has increased by more than 30%.
Pipeline accuracy has improved by more than 20% and less than 5% of opportunities now have “bad data.” “The Salesforce1 Mobile App provides our sales team the real time pipeline and customer visibility they require while on the road. It is a key driver to increased sales production,” says Todd Skiles, SVP of Sales, Supply Chain Solutions.
Ryder has also deployed the electronic signature application Docusign, along with a customer contract management process, within the Salesforce1 Mobile App. The time it takes to approve contracts has now been shortened from 15 days to less than seven days.
Ryder’s instance of the Salesforce1 Mobile App features the social intranet Chatter. This facilitates real-time collaboration for reps with subject matter experts on various tasks and opportunities, right on their phones. It has also helped improve the quality of data because updates can easily be made following meetings.
