Dreamforce is so much more than just a tech conference; it is an experience. Part of that experience is collecting amazing SWAG. SWAG stands for “Stuff We All Get,” and it's the giveways from vendors booths. Some like the thrill of the free stuff, some take it home for their kids, others just throw it away but there is no denying that good swag can make a buzz and draw you in. This will be my 7th Dreamforce and here are some of my favorite giveaways from over the years. Consider these ideas for your next conference.
In 2010, food and beverage became a big draw and Cognizant did it right with their nod to the childhood favorite, cotton candy. Food, coffee, beer: all homeruns!
The Insideview autographed Metaillica guitar really stood out. Leveraging the Dreamforce talent to build a great giveaway is not a new idea, but this guitar was a huge hit! Insideview then built an influencer campaign around it which made it that much more cool.
I mean, I love these things! I think I have one from every year of Dreamforce somewhere in my house. These bags last forever, are cool looking, and super functional throughout the event.
One of my personal favorites that I still have to this day was the 2011: "I ♥ SF" t-shirt.
Great T-shirts are a must. The "I cloud San Francisco" shirt was such a hit I remember the booth was always slammed! Salesforce took that shirt on the road to New York and beyond.
Truth be told I was part of ‘yo-yo gate’ so of course they are near and dear to my heart. And there are lots of good “childhood toy” swag throughout the conference. The yo-yo for me was the first piece of swag that really made me understand the power of swag. People were coming from near and far to get this yo-yo for their kids. People were doing walk the dogs and crazy tricks on the campground floor. It was awesome. Simple and awesome.
Nothing short of genius this one. They brought in unique remember able stuffed animals and built a campaign around it. They actually publically apologized via a blog post for the shortage of unicorns. They did it right.
So here is a sneak peak of what is coming this year. The Sales Cloud is giving away limited-edition Salesforce gear. Cool stuff inspired from the good swag of the past.
Register now for the sales cloud keynote and top 10 sessions to hear how you can ‘Sell from Anywhere with the Customer Platform’ and grab your seat in Moscone South’s main keynote room on Wednesday, November 20th at 9:00 AM. You will see amazing executive speakers, great content, killer demos, and the hoodie is pretty cool too.
