It is increasingly true that modern cloud and mobile enterprise apps are vital to improving productivity. Seagate, a world leader in storage solutions, saw this need in their company, and set out to create applications that could be delivered quickly and cost effectively. The apps also needed to be easily updated and integrated with their back office data.
Seagate, a longtime Salesforce.com customer, found their solution in Salesforce Platform. They have built over 40 modern apps across multiple lines of business and have seamlessly integrated these apps with Oracle ERP using Informatica.
Samuel Abraham, Senior Manager, Seagate Technology and Project Management Group, shares three benefits the company has experienced since choosing Salesforce Platform.
The first thing Seagate counts as a benefit of using Salesforce Platform is that all of their applications can rely on common data. This allows for consistency and accuracy across the board, because when the data gets updated in one location, it gets updated everywhere. Full integration happens easily and things don’t get out of sync.
Seagate has found that adding new applications has been a simple onboarding process because they can use the same technology as previous apps built on the Salesforce Platform. The company also enjoys more coverage because a larger group is now trained on a specific technology and can thus offer support on all the applications.
Salesforce Platform as a workflow tool has also been valuable for Seagate. The company has found it easy to configure and maintain, and has achieved reduced development time. The platform also allows for workflow automation, resulting in cost savings on resources, hardware, software and security.
