The buzz for Dreamforce seems to start earlier and earlier and this year was no exception. At 8:30 am on Tuesday morning over 1,000 members of the online community were waiting at the doors of Moscone Center to get things started.
The morning began with the Community Keynote (slides) which provided an update on what we've been seeing on the on-domain community & our social media channels. We told the story of how salesforce.com has been working hard to undergo its own social enterprise transformation (video) in time for Dreamforce. There are dozens of examples you'll see surface at Dreamforce this week.
Next up, was the introduction of our 2011 MVPs. In its first year the MVP program has been a tremendous success and has grown to over 50 members.
The keynote wrapped up with a special tribute to Daryl Shaber. For those who aren't familiar with Daryl he's a mysterious twitter personality who re-tweets all things Salesforce. He's come to symbolize the people and good humor which the community is all about. We had everyone reach under their chair for a special prize. What they found were these Daryl Shaber masks. Here's a pic of what the room looked like.
After the Keynote, there were a dozen breakout sessions lead by members of the community. All in all it was a great and busy morning. There are so many things happening within the community to be excited about!
