When you ask someone to describe Dreamforce, you’ll get a lot of different answers depending on who you talk to:
“It’s a tech conference.”
“It’s a training ground.”
“It’s part music festival, part networking meetup.”
“It’s where I learn about new technology.”
“It’s an event with amazing guest speakers.”
“It’s when I see all my online friends.”
The truth is, Dreamforce is all of those things — and more.
When Dreamforce launched in 2003, there were 1,300 registered attendees. It took place at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, had 52 presentations, and was where we launched a product called sforce 2.0 — the industry's first on-demand application server. Fast forward 15 years and Dreamforce ‘18 has expanded into a massive global event that millions of people look forward to every year (literally, millions.). This year will be no different.
Dreamforce has evolved to be more than just a technology conference. Marc Benioff has always said that business is a platform for change, and Dreamforce, as a representation of the Salesforce brand, brings this to life. You can see this in the types of programming, world leaders, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders that we attract to Dreamforce every year. And it’s a big reason why our customers come to Dreamforce every year - to learn and share best practices and success stories that they can then take back to drive their businesses forward, as well as to be inspired to make the world a better place.
We’re ready for four days of innovation, growth, learning, equality, giving back, and fun. With over 170,000+ registered attendees, 2,700+ breakout sessions, keynotes, volunteer events, cloud sneakers, parties, meditations with monks, dancing mascots, and one of the most famous bands on the planet performing — this is the moment you’ve been waiting for all year.
With so much going on, your days will likely be jam-packed. We want to help you stay organized, make the most of your time at Dreamforce, and keep you informed with important announcements, takeaways, and even a few surprises, so check in with the blog daily. For instance, we’re excited to announce that actor and activist Tracee Ellis Ross and Olympic figure skater and LGBTQ rights advocate Adam Rippon will be taking the stage at the Equality Keynote on Thursday!
