Salesforce and Apple are announcing a new strategic partnership today that will empower customers with rich new experiences and give everyone a chance to build native iOS apps through Trailhead, Salesforce's free, online learning platform.
The combined power of Salesforce and Apple is bringing new services to customers, and a greater democratization to developing apps – and jobs of the future. Here’s how:
1. To support developer learning and career growth, Apple is launching a new Get Started with iOS App Development Trailhead Trail that will teach anyone how to build native iOS apps in Xcode with Swift.
2. Apple and Salesforce are developing the first Salesforce Mobile software developer's kit (SDK) that is optimized for Swift, Apple’s powerful and intuitive modern programming language.
3. Salesforce, working with Apple, will redesign the Salesforce Mobile App to give customers rich experiences exclusively on iOS, with unique Apple capabilities such as Siri Shortcuts, Face ID, Business Chat and more.
What will that look like for our customers? Imagine a sales rep saying “Hey Siri, Daily Briefing” then hearing an overview of their day. They can also easily update Salesforce records after a meeting.
We believe that’s just the beginning. Apple and Salesforce developers will be able to more quickly and easily build native iOS apps on top of Salesforce. And that community will grow with Trailhead, where Trailblazers have earned more than 5 million badges for new skills. New developers won’t just build apps, they’ll build career skills.
Apple and Salesforce have simplified tech for the world – Apple with the best products for business, and Salesforce with a CRM everyone can use. Now our companies are inviting you to join that mission and build new opportunities for the future. We can’t wait to see the results.
