We can't resist celebrating the thousands of Trailblazers who use the Lightning Platform to build applications that power their Salesforce org to be more productive and effective for their business. That's why we are thrilled to announce the launch of our annual app developer contest. The prize? An all-expenses-paid trip to San Francisco, CA for Dreamforce '18, where the winners will get the opportunity to share their app on-stage, gaining worldwide recognition as leaders in app development.

In past contests, we've seen Trailblazers from companies mega to mini enter the Appventure Contest to share how they're using the platform in innovative, new ways. Here's a look at the stories of our three winners from last year’s contest:

  • Jim Young from ETE Reman, an auto-transmission company, wanted to help his sales team have better conversations with customers, so he built the Sales Coach app — a lightning component that surfaces the best questions a rep can ask on a sales call based on information found in the customer account record.
  • Tayabi Lokhandwala, representing his team at TD Bank, showed off an API Healthcheck app that makes it possible for TD Bank to quickly identify and act on degradations in APIs from various systems, and eliminate downtime that could cost the company revenue and cause customer pain.
  • Paul McCollum, from 7-Eleven, wanted to build a mobile app for the field managers who keep 7-Eleven stores in-the-know on brand promotions and gas pricing. Paul had minimal experience in developing mobile apps, but with the Lightning Platform and Trailhead, he was able to build a mobile-ready app that provides vital geo-located information to field managers.

Have we gotten your creative juices flowing yet? Do you want to be a rockstar like these Trailblazers? Now is your chance!

This year the contest is bigger than ever with five potential winners being flown out for their Dreamforce debut. Competing Salesforce customers from the U.S., Belgium, Canada (excl. Quebec), Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, and U.K. Countries are invited to participate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Salesforce customers to show off their most ambitious app dev projects. If you and your team have an awesome app idea that want to share with others, sign up for the Appventure right now.

Deadline to enter is July 13 and winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
