Most people start their Salesforce journey with a pretty clear idea of where they're going. Sometimes, though, the journey leads to a fork in the road, and a little navigation help might be required. If you're there, Salesforce Success Cloud can help.
Three areas where we commonly see customers getting off course are pipeline management, account management, and customization. If you’re facing any of these challenges, read on to see what steps you can take to streamline your Salesforce experience.
Upgrade Pipeline Management.
Managing your pipeline correctly is one of the most important things you can do to get the most out of Salesforce. And pipeline management depends on great visibility.
For a stronger pipeline, start off by upgrading to Salesforce Lightning Experience so you can take full advantage of features like Path. With Path you can create clear processes for lead management, lead qualification, and lead conversion. Want a quick fix? Make sure you have no more than four-to-six clearly defined opportunity stages. Your teams will do a better job keeping your leads and opportunities up-to-date.

Improve Account Management.
Duplicates are a scourge, so managing duplicates is one of the most effective ways to streamline your Salesforce experience.
Success on our platform depends on ensuring that your customer data is clean and easy to understand. Sadly, data has a tendency to get messy when sales reps can’t find existing customers (“Accounts”) in your database and end up creating a duplicate account.
End the duplicate scourge by first establishing a clear process for creating prospective accounts before trying to convert them into customers. Make sure to use standard objects to store all account information and rely on data de-duplication to make sure no duplicate accounts have been created. And avoid duplicate account creation in the first place by using Sales Cloud Lightning account search.

Create Better Customizations.
Salesforce allows you to customize workflows using process builders, custom objects, formula fields, and more. But the trick is to make sure the customizations you’re creating are actually streamlining the workflow and not creating unnecessary complications that slow everything down.
Automation is one of the key benefits of customization, and Process Builder is a great way to automate workflow actions with just a few clicks. Process Builder saves time when you update records by doing things like triggering automated emails and updating related records.
Be sure to search for free apps in the Salesforce AppExchange before starting your customization — there may already be a workable out-of-the box solution.
