Salesforce was founded on the belief that businesses can be one of the greatest platforms for change. That’s why in addition to creating a new business model back in 1999, Salesforce created a new integrated philanthropy model which is known as the 1-1-1 model. We leverage our products, technology, people and the Salesforce ecosystem to help communities around the world.
To date, Salesforce and our philanthropic entities have given more than $168 million in grants, Salesforce employees have logged more than 2.3 million volunteer hours worldwide, and more than 32,000 non-profit and higher education institutions use Salesforce to run their organizations.
The 1-1-1 model has allowed Salesforce to grow and adapt as a company over the past 18 years, growing our impact every step of the way. We’re now evangelizing integrated philanthropy through Pledge 1%, an initiative Salesforce co-founded that aims to create a new normal where giving back is baked into the DNA of companies (of all sizes) from the very beginning. Pledge 1% encourages companies to dedicate 1% time, 1% product, 1% profit and/or 1% equity to improve the state of the world. Since Pledge 1% launched in 2014, more than 2,800 companies in 60 countries have taken the pledge.
As for us here at Salesforce, our job is not done! We’re committed to encouraging and empowering our Salesforce Ohana: employees, partners, and customers to join the Pledge 1% movement. Dreamforce is always a special moment of the year because our Ohana is able to see social change and philanthropy brought to life throughout the event.
Here are some great ways to connect with Pledge 1% during Dreamforce 2017:
Pledge 1% sessions where attendees can learn first hand how to build giving back directly in to their companies
Pledge 1% office hours with social impact experts
Networking opportunities for Pledge 1% members
And much more!
