Two years ago, we launched App Cloud, an integrated set of platform services empowering CIOs to build, manage and scale apps for any business need.

Today, Salesforce is the leading enterprise PaaS. Our platform services power all of our clouds and the instances of more than 150,000 customers. These services -- ranging from encryption and low-code tools to Lightning UX and Einstein artificial intelligence -- are the connective tissue behind a new kind of customer experience: highly personalized, intelligent and secure.

Going forward, we’re updating the name of our PaaS from Salesforce App Cloud to Salesforce Platform. None of the technologies our customers and partners count on are going away--this change simply better reflects the role Salesforce platform services play as the bedrock for everything we do.
