We’re in a New York state of mind … and ready to share what’s going on in the Big Apple at Salesforce!

As Senior Vice President of our Customer Success Group, Mary Fratto Rowe has a very rare seat at the table. She not only has key insights into what Salesforce customers want and need, but also has a deep understanding of where we’re headed as a company. Based in the our New York hub, Mary’s got the inside scoop on what’s making our East Coast market thrive.

We picked her brain about what’s working, what opportunities lie ahead, and what she thinks will be Salesforce’s next big thing. Take a look.

What are you most excited about right now at Salesforce?

I’m thrilled about who we are as a company and what we are doing in regards to social change and equality. I could not be more proud of the leadership in our company and what they have accomplished.

How has the landscape at Salesforce changed since you joined in 2006?

When I joined the Ohana 11 years ago, we had one product. We were one cloud. Today, the growth has been phenomenal. The hyper growth, the continuous innovation, and our incredible product lineup are astounding. It is a fundamental landscape change.

What keeps you up at night?

Making sure that every time we interact with one of our customers, we are adding value and engaging in a meaningful way to help them grow and succeed. It is imperative that we keep up with our customers and are knowledgeable about their businesses and what they are looking to accomplish.

What makes our culture in New York unique?

It’s really hard to put it into words! From the skyline to the continuous buzz in the city, the energy in NYC is contagious.

Salesforce New York will soon move to the Salesforce Tower in Bryant Park. Why should we all get excited about this move?

Salesforce Tower really gives us a face here in the city. I believe our new home will amplify our local hub culture – it will be a workplace employees can be very proud of!

What’s the best piece of advice a mentor or leader has given you?

Get clarity about what you want. Take ownership of your own career. You, and you alone, define your own career path.

What’s your best advice for advancing your career?

It’s key to have a strong personal brand. Also, make sure to focus on the customer – always do what’s best for our customers to ensure we are helping them succeed.
