One of the many amazing things about Dreamforce is our incredible host city, San Francisco! With more restaurants per capita than any other city in the United States, San Francisco is a culinary wonderland, “foodie” paradise, and previously named Bon Appetit’s best food city. In between the incredible keynotes, the awesome sessions, and the multitude of planned activities, feel free to venture “off-campus” to explore the many bars, restaurants, cafes, and lounges that San Francisco has to offer.
Here are some of our food and drink recommendations:
Just a few blocks away from the Westin St. Francis in Union Square, this is a San Francisco classic. Start in upper level lounge for a well-made cocktail while sitting under rotating rattan fans. Head downstairs to enjoy an authentic Vietnamese meal, touched with a nice French influence. The menu does change often, but make sure to try the wok-seared filet mignon if it’s available.
Named for a small fishing village on the island of Samos in the Aegean Sea, Kokkari offers inviting, old-world charm. Executive Chef Erik Cosselmon serves up a full menu of Greek-inspired cuisine in a lively setting. With a large list full of fantastic appetizers (or mezethes), you may find yourself filling up before the entree has arrived, but try to save room for the lamb chops. In fact, Kokkari is one of the top ten highest Yelp-ranked restaurants in the Bay Area.
If you finding yourself needing a nice filling meal after trekking all around the Dreamforce campus, but don't want to sacrifice the ambiance, head to Wayfare Tavern. Americana favorites include baked mac and cheese and fried chicken nthat was amed to Food and Wine magazine's best fried chicken in America list. Dark wood and leather gives the restaurant an upscale gastropub vibe — perfect to sip a cocktail or enjoy the decadent chocolate cream pie for dessert.
You cannot beat the convenience of this delicious location. Delivering fantastic Mediterranean food for an incredible price, Oasis Grill satisfies locals and visitors alike.The perfectly cooked falafel, delicious hummus, and delectable shawarmas are well worth the wait!
Don’t blink; you might miss this small eatery. Located on the corner of the alley across the street from The Palace Hotel, this small space turns out some of the best sandwiches around. Though the line can be daunting (don’t worry, it moves quickly), the food is well worth the wait. The roast beef sandwich with homemade horseradish cream cheese on freshly baked bread is one of my personal favorites.
Why not hop on BART and go a few stops to 16th and Mission to try one of San Francisco’s best local taquerias. Located in the heart of the Mission district, this local favorite has been named the Nation’s Best Burrito. No matter what you get, the authentic food will satisfy fully while your wallet thanks you!
Located just a few blocks from the main Dreamforce campground, this bar is a great place to relax over a well-made drink. You can sit upstairs in the lounge, park downstairs at the bar or crowd by the large, street-level windows. Unwind with coworkers and socialize with locals at this hidden gem.
Looking for some snaps that will make your friends back home jealous? Hed to The View Lounge, located inside the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.
A bar that happens to share its name with its address (convenient!) also showcases local art. A large, open space with two bars, 111 Minna is a great space to relax after a day packed with great sessions! I would highly recommend their white sangria.
