Equality is the bedrock of progress, change, and innovation — three themes at the heart of Dreamforce. Salesforce strives to further equality and diversity, not just within the company, but also in the world beyond. In the past year we took a stance against discriminatory legislation in Indianapolis and Georgia, and committed to Equal Pay for Women — but we can’t do it alone.

It takes a village, ohana, and tech community, to create change. At Dreamforce, thousands of the brightest minds gather at the epicenter of technology innovation. This is an opportunity to spotlight the learnings from top thought leaders, today’s change-makers, foster conversations, and take action. This year we are featuring an impressive lineup of equality speakers, along with the second annual Dreamforce Women and Equality Summit, youth developer workshops, availability of Pronoun buttons, gender neutral bathrooms, and more.

Here are 7 ways Dreamforce is focusing on diversity and equality, and how you can get involved:

1. The Second Annual Women and Equality Summit

This year we are elevating the Women’s Leadership Summit conversation to include workplace equality, leadership equality and economic equality. Attendees will hear from the women and men who are blazing new trails when it comes to equality and learn how embracing inclusion and diversity positively impacts every aspect of business. Speakers like Billie Jean King, Sports Icon & Humanitarian, Patricia Arquette, Academy Award Winner and Activist, Rep. John Lewis, Representative of the 5th Congressional District of Georgia and beloved Civil Rights leader, and more.

2. Women’s Leadership Breakouts

Take the messages you hear from the Women’s Summit and put them into action. A host of women innovators and technology leaders from top companies like GE, SoulCycle, Schneider Electric, and Girl Scouts of USA, along with personal branding experts, will discuss how to break through the glass and succeed in your career. Salesforce Employee Resource Groups are communities built and run by employees in order to grow the company's diverse populations and foster inclusion. This year Outforce, BOLDforce, Latinoforce, Pacificforce, Abilityforce, and Southasiaforce have a roster of compelling equality sessions such as:

4. Luminary Developer Sessions

Our Luminary Developer sessions feature nine thought leaders that will inspire, teach, and show us the future. 5. Trailblazer Cub Coding Den

We are bringing over 300 students from bay area schools to participate in hands-on coding and robotics activities. By partnering with organizations like Mission Bit, Know Yourself, BUILD, and Self-eSTEM, we are helping to ensure that every child has access and exposure to STEM education, while also developing the diverse workforce of tomorrow.

6. Diversity Networking and Fundraising Events

As avid attendees know, Dreamforce is about more than the sessions — it’s also about the evening parties and mixers. Here are three big diversity events to look out for:

7. Salesforce Women’s Network & WiT Event

 For the 5th year, we are kicking off Dreamforce in style, the night before the big event, on Monday, October 3rd. Over 800 attendees can look forward to an evening of inspiring discussion, learning, and networking. Attendees will hear from panels of female trailblazers, engage in lively table discussions with women from all roles, and network with Salesforce customers, partners, employees, and other inspirational leaders. The panel discussions will be followed by hosted networking, drinks and appetizers! This session is open to all Dreamforce attendees and takes place from 6-8pm at the Hilton Hotel.
