The Summer ‘16 release is here, and we’re rolling into the surf and sand season with another batch of customer sourced features delivered on the IdeaExchange!

For those of you not familiar, the IdeaExchange is the place where customers like you can share and vote on product enhancements. Over the last 10 years, our product teams have delivered more than 3.4 million Idea points. Their work is not done of course — there are still a lot of great Ideas out there. So, if you haven't already, be sure to check out the IdeaExchange and let us know what enhancements are important to you! In the meantime, here’s a quick recap of some of the Ideas that are available to you in the Summer '16 release.

Following a record-breaking year in which we retired more than 1 million Idea points, we’re excited about another big release. In total, we touched more than 42 customer Ideas and over 240,000 Idea points in the Summer ‘16 release.

Generally Available (GA) Ideas:  

We delivered over 27 GA Ideas and 192,000+ Idea points this release. Big Ideas delivered include the # 4 Idea of all time, “Link a Single Contact to Multiple Accounts” at over 63k points and “Global (Universal) Picklists” at over 44k points. Lightning Ideas:

For a list of Ideas being delivered in Lightning click here. These Ideas are available to all customers who have adopted Salesforce Lightning. Lightning is our innovative, next generation user experience.

Partially Delivered (Ideas):

Sometimes an Idea can have one or more Ideas wrapped into it, touch multiple products or take more than one release to fully deliver. When we deliver part of an Idea (versus the whole Idea), we give it a status of “Partial Delivery." In Summer ‘16 we partially delivered 5 Ideas and nearly 32k Idea points. Pilot/Beta Ideas:

We often have Ideas that we that we want to test with a portion of our customer base. We call these “pilots”. In addition, some Ideas may also be available to all customers as beta until we later consider them finalized and ready for a more formal debut. We have 2 new Ideas worth over 4k points that are in Pilot/Beta status for Summer ‘16. Click here to see a full list of Ideas that are in the Pilot/Beta Ideas.
