Salesforce has a long standing history of advancing equality, and Dreamforce echoed this passion through breakout sessions, meetups, and parties for attendees with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Here is a recap of all that occurred this past week so you can plan ahead for next year’s Dreamforce taking place October 4-7, 2016.

Open for Service Breakout Session

After Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act passed last spring, Open for Service was founded by Josh Driver to inspire people to shop at businesses that support everyone. Open for Service is a non-profit organization that serves nearly 5,000 businesses dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all customers.

At Dreamforce, Salesforce employees Jay Langhurst and Eric Goldman shared how Open for Service leverages Salesforce to build a mobile business directory app in a session titled “Mobile Meets IoT: Engagement for an Open Economy.” To register your company and get an official Open for Service sticker, visit www.openforservice.com/sticker. Diversity Meetup With Lesbians Who Tech

Networking is an important part of any conference and this year’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Asexual, and Intersex focused meetup was held in the Dev Zone with Lesbians Who Tech.

OutFierce Party Benefiting The Riley Center

Pride Month is always a great time to celebrate, but isn’t the only time. Outforce, Salesforce’s employee-led group consisting of allies of diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity, hosted OutFierce, its 5th annual Dreamforce party, to kick off the week complete with drag queens and a rainbow-lit dance floor. The party raised over $10,000 for St. Vincent de Paul Society's Riley Center, a transitional services and homeless shelter for survivors of domestic violence and their children in San Francisco. We are grateful to Salesforce Marketing and Employee Success for making this possible!

Corporate Advocacy Award from Lambda Legal

On the last official day of Dreamforce, Salesforce was honored with the 2015 Corporate Leadership Award from Lambda Legal, an organization dedicated to protecting the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people, and people with HIV/AIDS. We are proud to received this award and demonstrate that the business of business is improving the state of the world.
