When you think of Dreamforce, you might think of the innovative keynotes, celebrity speakers, amazing parties, or the Dreamfest. But at the very heart of the conference is giving, and philanthropy is a huge part of Dreamforce every single year.

This year our focus was education, with the main goal to donate one million books to schools and libraries around the world for children in need. But in addition to donating books, our attendees and employees also had numerous opportunities to participate in activities for multiple different charities and causes. Each day of Dreamforce was devoted to a different cause: Tuesday was for supporting our veterans, Wednesday promoted childhood education, Thursday we focused on Women in Technology, in conjunction with our first-ever Women’s Leadership Summit, and Friday we advocated for protecting the environment with green living.

Take a look at how we did with Dreamforce Gives ‘15:

75: The number of veterans that participated in a mentoring session with over 35 executives.

Executives got the chance to sit down with veterans and learn more about the veterans’ stories, career development, and how their companies can support our troops when they return home.

Attendees assembled 3,500 Night Night Kits, including stuffed animals, books, and blankets, for children of homeless veterans. Project Night Night’s mission is to give homeless children around the country a better night’s sleep. Check out this video for more.

150 Green Angels were onsite to make sure our attendees were recycling and composting and keep valuable resources out of landfills! Learn more about how we kept Dreamforce green this year.

10 million dollars raised for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals from the Dreamfest. Big thanks to the Foo Fighters, The Killers and Gary Clark Jr. for showing our Dreamfest attendees a rockin’ good time.

2,000 totes packed with early education materials were assembled and donated to Talk Read Sing to promote early childhood development.

350 kids were on the Dreamforce campus throughout the week for coding sessions with our partners and campus tours. “I’ve been on a lot of field trips and this is the best one I have ever been on,” remarked one of our young visitors. That’s what we like to hear!

2 Bay Area-themed murals painted with Splashes of Hope, which will be donated to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland.

1,008,434...and counting! That’s the final tally of how many books we will be able to donate to our partners, including Room to Read, First Book, SFUSD, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. Here’s a fun fact: not only did we reach our one million books goal, we also achieved the largest book drive EVER!

Thank you to all of our attendees, partners and employees for continuing to make giving back a hugely successful part of each and every Dreamforce. We’ll see you next year!
