Today we announced the Salesforce $1 Million Hackathon (#salesforcehack) with the largest single hackathon prize ever. Developers will create the next killer mobile app on the Salesforce Platform, the world’s number one cloud platform, for a chance to win $1 million.
With the rise of social networks and the proliferation of mobile devices, developers everywhere want to capitalize on the booming opportunity spurred by this technology shift and create the next generation of apps for the enterprise.
“We’re in the midst of a mobile app renaissance,” said Adam Seligman, vice president of Salesforce Platform developer and partner marketing. “Developers are reinventing how business works, and how companies connect with their customers. With the Salesforce Platform, they have the proven mobile, social and cloud services to create exponentially more productive apps for the enterprise.”
We can’t wait to see what developers create at Dreamforce. And because developers must be on site at Dreamforce, we’ve created a special $99 Hacker Pass that will give developers access to the Developer Zone and main keynote at Dreamforce. The Developer Zone will spark the next revolution of enterprise app development, with more than 200 sessions, 20,000 developers, 1,000 code, design and developer consultations and much more.
Teams are encouraged to start coding today and can continue to build their apps on-site in the Developer Zone, where there will be on-site, around-the-clock hacking. Developers must submit their apps on Nov. 20. The winner will be announced at Dreamforce Thursday, Nov. 21.
