A bigger and better Dreamforce means a bigger and better Dreamforce mobile application. Creating a mobile app that lives up to the innovation and energy of Dreamforce is no easy feat but come the end of October, the new Dreamforce app will be ready for download.
Luckily, mobile app leads, Ed Park and Scott Owens had a lofty vision and the Salesforce Platform to support their efforts.
Salesforce.com launched an all-new Dreamforce mobile app for iOS and Android that embodies our mobile first, API first and customer company focus. We’ve used the Salesforce Platform to build a Dreamforce app that will help attendees connect to learning opportunities, other attendees and sponsors throughout our the Dreamforce campus.
In order to build an amazing app, Ed and Scott wanted to answer three main questions:
After attending other conferences they realized that these questions could not be easily navigated through typical event mobile apps. They knew that they had to raise the bar for the Dreamforce attendee and find ways to remove obstacles. Attendees need to have a full and exciting Dreamforce experience, and not have their faces stuck in their phones.
The team got to work building the app on the Salesforce Platform. It was important that the Dreamforce app was built directly on the Salesforce Platform and made extensive use of REST APIs to combine the power of salesforce.com with native mobile experiences on iOS and Android.
The final product also needed to incorporate contextual and social features so the app can intuitively make recommendations on everything from sessions to people, and allow for easy social sharing.
Once you've personalized the app we make sure that you always have meaningful, customized recommendations for sessions, people and groups at your fingertips. Easily build your event schedule by browsing all sessions and adding them to your agenda. Our full lineup of sessions is available to browse chronologically, filter, or search.
Enrolling or bookmarking sessions is just a simple tap, and all of your selected sessions are shown in a beautiful agenda view with our new card design.
Connect with your Chatter feed plus Twitter and LinkedIn. We've imade it possible for your feed posts to automatically go to Twitter and LinkedIn.
Additionally, when looking at the list fo people on the app, you'll see if you're already following them on Twitter and LinkedIn.
Interact with sponsors and the Dreamforce campus using our new interactive map. You can search, browse, and follow sponsors to take advantage of all the great companies exhibiting at this year's Dreamforce.
We can’t wait for the mobile app to go live at the end of the month. It will be available for download for all mobile platforms, including Android and iOS.
