Salesforce Platform has big plans coming for you at Dreamforce, and as always, developers are a force to be reckoned with.  Here is a sneak peak of what you can expect in November.

1. Mobile, Mobile, Mobile

Mobile is a huge push at Dreamforce this year.  Both the Developer communities and Salesforce Platform product are focusing their energies on this area.  Salesforce Platform is introducing new products, including Company Communities, with more announcements to come.

There will be tons of mobile development opportunities via hands-on workshops, dedicated sessions, sample code, and experts to help you to build mobile apps for today. For those new to development, go check out the  demo stations, where you can learn to create mobile apps without any coding in five minutes flat!

2. Big Time Keynotes

Salesforce Platform and developers had great keynotes last year and will once again.  Both keynotes will be on Wednesday— the Developer Keynote at 10:30am and the Platform at 2pm.  Couldn’t find a seat at last year’s sold out Developer Keynote?  Be sure to get there early to snag a close up spot.

3. Plenty of Places to See it all in Action

This year Salesforce Platform has exciting new elements in the Campground.  Check out the App Cube, where you can find live theater demos, play games including Tetris and network with your peers.

Dreamforce-booth1-1024x682As always, the Developer Zone (#devzone) in Moscone West is the place to be for developers. Look out for additional details on the DevZone in the weeks to come.

A major element of the various campgrounds and zones are demos. We will have a ton of platform, developer, and AppExchange demos for you to check out. These demos will be focused on how to build apps on the platform, and how to leverage features of the platform for your application development. There will be a lot of exciting new demos on mobile, Company Communities, and Heroku just to name a few.

4. Get Your Hands Dirty

We all know that hands-on training is a major element of Dreamforce.  A goal of many attendees is to walk away with specific solutions and knowledge that they can bring directly back to their jobs.  This year there will be even more hands-on training.  Also, look out for more information on “mini-hacks” for developers of all levels.

Full day trainings are also available for technologies related to Salesforce.  Learn JavaScript, html5, IOS, IOC and more.

5. Dedicated Sessions

Beyond real-time demos, both Salesforce Platform and developers will have more sessions than ever. Salesforce Platform has 52 dedicated sessions including, “How to Integrate Your Cloud Data,” “ CIO Panel: How Cloud Platforms are Transforming IT,” “What’s Behind a Mobile Social Intranet,” Anatomy of a Mobile App: 101” and many more.

Dreamforce-devs-collaboratingDevelopershave over 250+ dedicated developer sessions. These technical sessions have everything from beginner to advanced topics on application life cycle management, integration, mobile development and more. There is something for everyone. A constant theme across all Dreamforce sessions is partner and community involvement. Over 1/3 of the developer session line up are hand picked from the cream of the crop community submissions. Just under half of our total sessions are presented in our DevZone theaters and all of these will be presented by members of the community and partners. All sessions will be focusing on giving tangible key takeaways, in code or demos, for attendees to learn from and use. The DevZone is hard focused on learning and have changed the format from 45 minutes rather than 60 allowing you to take in more sessions than previous years.
