I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve added another security certification to our impressive roster: Salesforce is now Payment Card Industry, Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certified at Compliance Level 1. This means our systems passed the most rigorous security requirements PCI DSS has to offer. For those unfamiliar, PCI DSS is made up of an association of credit card providers who publish security standards for parties who handle credit card information.
So what does this mean for customers? It essentially means that customers like you can leverage their Salesforce deployment to support payment card-related transactions for the end user. Now customers will be able to provide a simplified, streamlined payment process for the end user, all while remaining PCI compliant.
Keeping our customers secure and successful is the number one priority for salesforce.com. We dedicate extensive resources to make sure customer information is secure and we’ve built a company culture that reinforces trust at every opportunity.
We’ll continue to provide relevant security updates here, on the corporate blog. In addition, please visit trust.salesforce.com, our home for open communication on security and real-time updates on system performance. That’s also where you’ll be able to find the rest of our security certifications, including ISO27001, TRUSTe Certified Privacy, SysTrust, and SAS70 Type II. If you’re a customer and interested in learning about how you can make PCI compliant transactions, reach out to your account executive.
