Here at our salesforce.com headquarters in San Francisco, we’ve been thinking a lot about the theme of this year's Dreamforce conference – Welcome to the Social Enterprise. But try to define a Social Enterprise in 30 seconds or less. It’s not easy. We needed a way to make that term more easily understood for our 30,000+ Dreamforce attendees before they dove into the 400+ sessions, 3 keynotes, and 500+ speakers on this transformative topic.

As we saw the list of experts speakers firm up — social media gurus Jeremiah Owyang, Charlene Li, Brian Solis, Gary Vaynerchuk, and our own Marcus Nelson — we asked ourselves, why not ask these leaders to help us define the term Social Enterprise for our attendees before we all arrive at the conference?

We enlisted our Web producer/camera man Kevin Wood to run the camera in between meetings, our summer MBA intern Johnnie Jung  (who happens to have a USC film school background) to edit the videos, and myself, new to salesforce.com, to do the interviews. We spent the last two weeks dropping by the offices of some of our most notable Dreamforce ’11 speakers, asking them their for candid advice on how to transform a business into a Social Enterprise. They did not disappoint with the expert insights that they freely shared. Check out the playlist of these interviews and prepare to take your first steps into the Social Enterprise.
