For the fifth year in a row, Salesforce has been named by Forbes as one of the World’s Most Innovative companies.
This year, Forbes recognized Salesforce’s innovative approach to advancing women in the workplace and closing the gender pay gap. A diverse and equitable workplace fosters innovation and creativity, and our goal is to ensure that Salesforce is a place where all people can do their best work. We recognize that in order to continue to succeed and innovate, it’s important for Salesforce to recruit, develop and retain a diverse employee population.
Forbes spoke with Cindy Robbins, Executive Vice President of Employee Success, and Leyla Seka, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Desk.com, about how Salesforce is empowering everyone at the company to drive towards a fully inclusive, diverse culture.

To that end, Salesforce has supported programs including the #LeanInTogether Initiative, which is designed to give men a role in empowering women in workplace, and this year was named one of the top 13 companies for women technologists by the Anita Borg Institute. We’re continuing the energy next month at Dreamforce, where we’ll be hosting our first-ever Women’s Leadership Summit.
Companies are ranked by their innovation premium: the difference between their market capitalization and a net present value of cash flows from existing businesses (based on a proprietary formula from Credit Suisse HOLT). With Forbes’ data-driven approach to the ranking, we’re so proud to have been once again named among the most innovative companies.
