Welcome to another edition of B-Well Together, a 30-minute webinar series, highlighting tips, resources, and coping skills from leading wellbeing experts to support you and your families. Prior episodes featured renowned global climate defender Christiana Figueres, award-winning comedian Trevor Noah, and CEO whisperer Jerry Colonna.
Here, Krista Tippett, New York Times bestselling author, Peabody Award-winning broadcaster, NPR radio host, and founder and host of the “On Being” podcast, shares her guiding lights for spirituality during this time of crisis.
“We’re all in this together,” Tippett says. “And we’re all alone in this.”
Tippett believes that regardless of whether we’re sheltering in place alone or in a house full of family and pets, we have to find moments of solitude. We can embrace this time to reflect inward on our own fear, grief, or joy to “become at home in yourself,” she says.
She tells us why it’s important to find peace with reality as it is and not as we wish it to be. How? By finding spirituality any way that speaks to us: yoga, poetry, meditation, lighting a candle.
In this video, Tippett reads from poems and passages to highlight how spirituality plays an important role in getting us through the COVID-19 crisis. That includes understanding others, that fear can divide us, and because “anger is what fear looks like when it shows itself in public.”
The B-Well Together series is part of a larger Leading Through Change initiative, providing thought leadership, tips, and resources to help business leaders manage through crises. Check out some of our most recent articles:
