We’ve been on a journey from the company’s humble beginnings in a small San Francisco apartment to over 30,000 employees globally today - and now, we’re excited to celebrate the official grand opening of Salesforce Tower. Proudly standing 61-stories high and the tallest office building west of the Mississippi, Salesforce Tower anchors our HQ urban campus and is a home for our Ohana, "family" in Hawaiian, including employees, customers, partners and the community, a truly beautiful space that welcomes all.

Centered in the new heart of San Francisco, Salesforce Tower is surrounded by Salesforce Transit Center and Salesforce Park, visionary projects that include a state-of-the-art transportation hub and a 5.4 acre rooftop public park.

Giving back to the San Francisco community

As San Francisco’s largest technology employer, we’re thrilled to deepen our roots in the city in which we were born and bred. In honor of today’s grand opening, Salesforce.org, Salesforce’s philanthropic arm is making a $1.5 million donation to Hamilton Families’ Heading Home Initiative to end long-term family homelessness in San Francisco. This is the company’s second investment in the initiative, for a total of $3.5 million towards ending homelessness for the 1,000+ San Francisco families that do not have stable housing. Together, we can work to get every family in the city off the street and into a home.

We look at our real estate in a unique way, as a place to integrate the community in which we live and work. To further our commitment, the top floor of Salesforce Tower will be the Ohana Floor, a unique hospitality space which will open by Dreamforce 2018. It will be the ultimate gathering space for Salesforce employees and customers to foster collaboration, and will also be available for free to nonprofits on weeknights and weekends to host their own events. With an exhibition kitchen, coffee barista bar, social and networking space, and sweeping views of San Francisco, this innovative floor design will help us to continue to serve the local community. Ohana floors will soon come to all of our Salesforce Towers globally, including Indianapolis, New York, and London.

Taking sustainability to the next level

At Salesforce we have two significant environmental commitments to ensure our growth is also environmentally sustainable–achieving 100% renewable energy for all of our operations and carbon neutrality. We’re proud that we deliver a carbon neutral cloud for all of our customers and have achieved or are actively pursuing green building certification in 65 percent of our offices worldwide.  In addition, we are pursuing LEED Platinum certification, the highest possible achievement, for Salesforce East, Salesforce West and Salesforce Tower at our San Francisco headquarters.

To continue our environmental stewardship, Salesforce Tower San Francisco will be one of the most sustainable buildings globally -- on track to achieve the most points for a LEED V4 Platinum (Commercial Interiors) Project in the world. It beats the energy performance guidelines of San Francisco’s green building code by more than 20 percent and is on track to be enrolled in SuperGreen – San Francisco’s 100% renewable energy program. Additionally, the Tower will feature the largest on-site water recycling system in a commercial high-rise building in the United States (saving more than 7 million gallons of fresh water a year).

Thoughtfulness in our workplace design for our Ohana

Salesforce Tower embodies the best of our Ohana design and is a place where our employees can bring their best selves to work. From social lounges with sweeping views of Salesforce Park, flexible workspaces no matter your workstyle, mindfulness rooms for quiet recharging, natural sunlight and plant life to bring the outdoors in, photo galleries showcasing team photos, residential furniture and finishes to feel like home and more; the Tower is nothing short of spectacular.

We are so honored that Salesforce was recently named #1 on the FORTUNE “100 Best Companies to Work For” list, #1 on the FORTUNE “Best Workplaces for Giving Back” list and #1 on the FORTUNE “Future 50” list. But what truly makes Salesforce a great place to work are the people. In fact, we are so proud that Salesforce employees in the Bay Area have donated nearly 1 million volunteer hours to local nonprofits!

Salesforce Tower brings our #SalesforceOhana culture to life in an inspirational space where everyone can come together to collaborate, innovate, give back and do the best work of our lives. And the path doesn’t stop here as we continue to grow worldwide.
