Pro Bono Week is a global campaign celebrating and activating pro bono service through professionals that use their talents to make a difference.
Volunteering has been a core value at Salesforce since day one and we are immensely proud of the impact our employees and partners have had in giving back around the world. In honor of Pro Bono Week we’d like to take the opportunity to not only thank all of our pro bono volunteers, but also share insights we’ve learned about the many employee and business benefits of having a Pro Bono Program.
Last year more than 1,200 Salesforce employees lent their skills and expertise to strengthen the nonprofit sector. Among other capacity building projects, these employees successfully implemented Salesforce products for more than 500 nonprofits, helping these organizations to end poverty, cure diseases, close the gender equality gap, teach youth, and promote peace.
While the impact in the nonprofit sector was evident, we sought a better understanding of what these employees experience. We surveyed 600 of our pro bono volunteers and our findings were nothing short of inspirational.
As it turns out, Pro Bono makes our employees happier AND builds knowledge and skills that our employees take back into their day jobs.
- 94% of employees who do pro bono are happier at Salesforce
- 72% build problem-solving skills
- 67% understand Salesforce customers better
As a result of our findings, we’ve invested in our program by launching an internal training program and scaling our employee engagement efforts. With the data to support it, we encourage you to consider a pro bono program at your company.
