Dreamforce embodies the “work hard, play hard” mentality that permeates the technology industry. While the four days of Dreamforce are loaded with workshops, breakout sessions, and networking events, the nights are equally packed with concerts and parties to attend.
Each year, Salesforce and its partners throw dozens of parties throughout the city during Dreamforce. Each party has its own unique location and theme, and some even have an exclusive criteria for their attendees. So how do you master this diverse party scene? Here are a few helpful tips.
Want a complete list of every party at this year’s Dreamforce? There’s an app for that. Billing itself as “your unofficial guide to all parties and social events happening during Dreamforce,” Partyforce has been a staple of the Dreamforce experience for years. Created by DoubleDutch and updated each year, this app has everything you need to make the most of the Dreamforce party scene.
In addition to a complete agenda of all the great parties, Partyforce offers some additional functionality the can help you network, navigate, and plan your party going experience. An activity feed similar to Chatter is a great way to ask questions and tap into conversations. a helpful map feature ensure that you never get lost, and you can even create surveys to crowdsource expertise from other users.
Over 61% of Dreamforce veterans suggest you RSVP to the parties you most want to attend. While some parties have flexible admission, other parties fill up fast and may only admit attendees who RSVP in advance. With over 160,000 registrants, even the largest parties can reach capacity in no time. You can RSVP directly through the Partyforce app or through specific websites setup by sponsoring companies. Once you’ve RSVP’d you don’t have to worry about getting turned away at the door and having to change your plans.
Veterans also encourage attendees to arrive early. Even if you RSVP and are guaranteed a spot, the event spaces for Dreamforce parties can still get crowded as the night progresses. Arriving late could mean getting turned away at the door or having to wait in line as the party empties out.
Arriving early not only assures you’ll get into the party of your choice, but also means you’ll have an easier time getting to the bar, finding a place to sit, and scoping out the area. You’re likely to be standing shoulder to shoulder with other guests as the night progresses, but arriving early will at least make sure you can do it from the best spot at the venue.
The most important piece of advice is to have fun! Dreamforce is not a celebration of Salesforce or our Product. It is a celebration of our amazing customers and partners. We’re here to celebrate you. Dreamforce is a party to celebrate your success and we want you to truly enjoy it.
Even if your schedule is completely booked with workshops, sessions, and networking events, make time to attend at least one or two parties and kick back. You deserve it!
