Leon Edwards served 7 1/2 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He deployed to Iraq on three combat operations, including Japan, Korea, and Singapore, and to Thailand on non-combat operations. Edwards was promoted to Sergeant before leaving the Marine Corps in 2009. Today, he's pursuing a career in cloud computing through salesforce.com's program for military veterans, VetForce.

"The military taught me how to always be alert and look for opportunities," Edwards says. "I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Salesforce Administration training program. Getting an opportunity to be a part of this company and learning the skills that I will get from the training will be an opportunity of a lifetime."

LeonOne million service men and women are scheduled to transition out of the military over the next five years. The mission of VetForce is to impact the lives of 10,000 U.S. military veterans by helping them gain salesforce.com experience and find related employment. Salesforce is providing training and certification opportunities to military veterans to enhance their skill set and equip them for successful careers in cloud computing.
