If you can believe it, Dreamforce ’14 is just a few short months away.
While we prepare for the big event (and most exciting Dreamforce ever), let's also take some time to reminisce.
Here’s a look back at last year’s most awesome highlights:
1. 1,250+ sessions
2. 370 partners
3. 22 keynotes
4. 136,000+ Dreamforce mentions tracked at the Social Media Command Center during the event (45% increase over Dreamforce ’12)
5. Six million dollars raised for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital
6. More than 21-hundred Salesforce1 Platform apps built by attendees
7. 480,000+ online viewers on salesforce.com/live
We can all attest that Dreamforce is more than just the numbers. Here are some additional highlights from last year’s show:
8. An amazing opening keynote with Marc Benioff
After a surprise performance by Huey Lewis and the News, Benioff shared his vision for the third wave of computing, “The Internet of Customers.” He explained that behind the 50 billion connected devices in the marketplace, every app, every tweet, and everything else on the Internet, is a customer. And then he unveiled the Salesforce1 Mobile App, which allows any customer to run their business from their phone.
9. We Leaned In with Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg
Marc Benioff hosted a lively conversation with Sheryl Sandberg, author of “Lean In” and founder of LeanIn.org. She spoke about her approach to encourage women to chase their ambitions and told all the parents in the room “Your daughter is not bossy, she has executive leadership skills.”
10. Marissa Mayer and Marc Benioff chatted
Benioff sat down for a fireside chat with Marissa Mayer in which the Yahoo! CEO discussed her passion for overseeing the design and experience of Yahoo's products and organization. The “phenomenal new leader,” as Benioff called her, had a lot to say.
11. We learned how the Salesforce Foundation is helping to rebuild Haiti
The Dreamforce ’13 main keynote featured an intense look at salesforce.com’s charitable efforts, including aid given to earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Special guests Laurent Lamonth, Prime Minister of Haiti, actor Sean Penn, Ambassador at Large for Haiti, and Petra Nemcová, Founder of Happy Hearts, spoke about how much the Saleseforce Foundation is helping the Haitian people.
12. The massive, inflatable structure on the Dreamforce plaza
Last year we created a giant inflatable dome-like environment that essentially looked like a giant honeycomb. This iconic structure gave the plaza a whole new vibe—and helped protect everyone from a rainy week. Watch it come to life with this multi-angle lapse photography:
13. DevZone
The DevZone was once again the place to be at Dreamforce. Attendees learned new skills through interactive sessions and hands-on training, while totally geeking out over all the surrounding innovation.
14. Customer Company Experiences
At the all-new Customer Company Showcase at the newly expanded campground, attendees saw first-hand how six successful companies—HP, Virgin America, Nissan, Blue Shield of California, Trunk Club, and NBCUniversal—transformed their businesses with Salesforce.
15. Green Day rocked the rain
Last, but obviously not least, was the Dreamforce Gala with Green Day and Blondie at AT&T Park. No amount of rain could put a damper on the fun. The band played through and the crowd loved it.
