Today we announced plans with Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for human resources and finance, that will integrate the entire Salesforce and Workday product lines to enable their customers’ mutual success.
Salesforce.com plans to standardize on Workday’s applications, and Workday plans to standardize on salesforce.com’s applications and platform. Workday will integrate Salesforce with Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Workday Financial Management and Workday Big Data Analytics. Additionally, salesforce.com will integrate Workday into its applications and platform, including Chatter.
“We’ve enjoyed a long-standing relationship with salesforce.com and today’s announcement is another exciting step forward driven by our mutual customers,” said Aneel Bhusri, Chairman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Workday. “By deepening our partnership, we continue to make it easy for enterprises around the world to leverage the cloud to transform their businesses with the proven combination of Workday and salesforce.com.”
Marc Benioff shared this about the news: “It’s a great day for the cloud! Aneel and I both agree that salesforce.com and Workday need to unite our clouds. Salesforce.com's CRM integrated with Workday HCM and Financial Management is the best of both worlds: the customer applications from salesforce.com combined with HR and Financials from Workday.”
“The heart of our business is our relationships with customers,” said Brian Donahue, VP of Sales Strategy at CareerBuilder. “Salesforce.com and Workday coming together delivers the best of the cloud, giving us the agility and flexibility to deliver limitless value to our customers.”
“As one of the largest emergency medicine practice management companies in the US, the biggest challenge we face is being able to rapidly respond to the evolving healthcare market without losing focus on delivering quality care to patients,” said Doug Menefee, CIO of Schumacher Group. “With a single, unified cloud solution from salesforce.com and Workday, we will have an improved view of financial and operational information to achieve new levels of efficiency and scalability while continuing to leverage the benefits of running critical business processes in the cloud.”
The plan is to build new integrations between the Salesforce and Workday applications. Workday will build new Salesforce connectors for Workday Financial Management and Workday Big Data Analytics.
Major technical capabilities of the partnership will include:
Force.com users will enjoy the ability to build applications using data directly from Workday's applications
Salesforce Chatter users will be able to receive updates directly from Workday, allowing customers to securely share, collaborate and act upon workforce data in real-time
Workday HCM users will be able to use data from Salesforce to fuel greater workforce productivity and engagement
Workday Financial Management users will be able to use data from Salesforce to achieve greater visibility into their financial and operational performance for improved decision making
