Salesforce.com employees have officially reached 500,000 volunteer hours!
That’s half a million hours of teaching, training, building, cleaning, mentoring, and helping those who need it most. What an accomplishment!
This is a monumental milestone for our company. The Salesforce Foundation is based on a simple idea: leverage our people, technology, and resources to help improve communities around the world. We call this the 1/1/1 model, and today, we prove that donating just 1% of our time, products, and equity can make a real difference.
We all give 1% in our own ways. Here, salesforce.com employees share a few recent experiences around the globe that have have helped us reach half a million hours:
“Great day with Working Knowledge in the UK—we worked with 17-year-old students as they built out a mock business plan they invented, including elevator pitches, financial pitches, and presenting their 'Investment Pitch' in front of the entire class. Seriously impressive stuff and great to see the progress of the students throughout the day.” - Tom Handley, Senior Manager, Services Operations
“I was honored to serve a meal to the underprivileged and handicapped at Glide Memorial Coffee Shop in San Francisco, and I look forward to doing similar acts in the future. Thanks for the opportunity, and I take great pride in being a part of salesforce.com.” - Shekhar Bhagat, ISV Account Executive Senior
