The Salesforce.com Foundation has set up a matching donation campaign with the American Red Cross to help families deal with the aftermath of the hurricane. If you’d like to donate, you can go to http://american.redcross.org/salesforce-emp and we’ll match your donation, up to a total of $50,000.
Years ago, my family and I sat glued to the TV watching the weather channel as a major hurricane tracked straight for us on our long anticipated vacation on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We evacuated inland – as many did this weekend to avoid the direct impact of Irene. We were lucky – nothing lost except a few days of sunshine and relaxation. Not so for many families in Hurricane Irene’s path last weekend. While Irene’s toll is still being evaluated, we know that families up and down the East coast lost homes, property and, most tragically, family.
