It was an amazing 2 days at SMX Sydney 2013. If you missed the event, do not despair I tweeted almost non stop using the @markvozzo Twitter handle. I also made sure to take plenty of photos and notes to share (See my highlights from Day 1 here.)

If I get enough interest will post Day 2 highlights. (So shout out in the comments below!)

SMX 2013 was my first time presenting at an Aussie search conference. I have learnt so much from the speakers at previous SMX conferences, so it was a great feeling to be able to share and give back to the SMX crowd.

For those you missed my presentation, here it is...

SEM+CRM=ROI Heaven from Mark Vozzo

SUMMARY: I take you on a behind the scene tour of how I setup and manage over 60,000 keywords across 5 countries, 4 search engines and leverage the power of a CRM system and a sales force that helps me deliver heavenly Return On Investment (ROI).

A trip down SMX memory lane

I can recall my very first SMX Sydney over at Luna Park in 2008. Here is a photo taken at that event where we headed to this freezing bar down near the Opera House (I think it was called the Minus 5 Bar in Sydney)...

SMX Sydney 2008 - Search Celebrities having a drink in the Minus 5 Bar

Ah... this photo brings back great memories... Look at all these youthful celebrities in the Search Engine industry... Rand Fishkin (@Randfish), Danny Sullivan (@DannySullivan), Mike Motherwell (@Motherwell), Ani Babaian (@siroon), Karina Sant'Ana (@karistar), Chris Dimmock (@cogentis), Barry Smyth (@BarryPSmyth) and the very tall Mr Lucas Ng (@lucasng) all freezing and all sipping vodkas in below zero degrees.

SMX-Sydney-2013-badge-markvozzo-speakerI have attended several years of SMX's and hats off to Barry Smyth who continues to run an excellent show and manages to bring in the best speakers from around the globe and local Aussie talent to this premiere search conference down under.

Thanks Barry Smyth for giving me this opportunity to speak this year!
