Salesforce Live: India is coming to you on September 10! Get ready for a virtual experience full of inspiration, innovation, learning, and fun.

One of the sessions we’re most looking forward to is a panel discussion on how business can be a platform for change—specifically, how Salesforce customers, partners, and  employees are supporting and uplifting communities during the global pandemic.

This is a subject that’s close to our hearts here at Salesforce because we believe that the purpose of business isn’t just to drive revenue or satisfy shareholders. It’s also to create a positive impact on our societies—to do well by doing good.

Today, our entire planet is in the throes of a devastating pandemic. Never has it been more important for businesses to give back than now. And across India, corporates are rallying together to donate funds, support frontline workers, and help those in need.

It’s heartening to see these initiatives, and we’re excited to spotlight some of them at Salesforce Live: India.

What can you expect from the session?

We’ve got a stellar line up of panelists—all passionate Trailblazers who exemplify the notion of leading with purpose.

  • Sapna Moudgil, Director at NIIT Foundation left her corporate life in 2008 to join the social sector. In the past 12 years, she has led NIIT Foundation towards educating and skilling over 2.5 million children, youth, and adults across India.

  • Hari Raja, Global Head of Appirio Consulting Services, Wipro has 20+ years of experience in the services industry and a strong passion for giving back.

  • Gagan Dewan, Key Account Director at Salesforce is a pro at strategising and business planning. But he also actively supports communities and non-profits in need.

These three real-life heroes will talk about how their companies are serving society in innovative ways. Appirio, for instance, has gone above and beyond to support a fundraising drive in collaboration with Salesforce and our non-profit partner, the United Way of Hyderabad. The raised funds will help build multiple Trailblazer Community Labs in rural areas to facilitate access to technology and continuous learning.

Meanwhile, NIIT Foundation has been implementing skill training and education programs for the under-privileged over the past 15 years. During the pandemic, the company joined hands with Salesforce to support at-risk students and families by funding their rent, electricity, phone bills, medical bills, and other necessities.

Salesforce’s Gagan Dewan led this outreach campaign within the company, galvanising and motivating employees to contribute to and touch the lives of over 500 families.

Watch Moudgil, Raja, and Dewan at Salesforce Live: India as they share their experiences of how businesses can do well and do good.
