The festive season is well and truly underway. The stores are stacked with all sorts of Christmas items, most of us dashing in a mad craze from shop to shop to sort gift lists plus... oh wait! The food, and trying to get through a gazillion things before the 25th of December.
Absolutely, Christmas can be an incredibly busy, crazy time. So let’s take a step back and remember one of the key messages of Christmas: a time of giving and spreading joy to those who struggle during this season.
One of our core values at Salesforce is promoting a culture of caring through giving back to communities in need. We think this is not only important during the holiday season but all year round. And, let’s face it there’s no better feeling than empowering communities and organisations to make a tremendous difference to the people they help.
If you’ve been thinking about giving over Christmas, we’ve got some great news for you: it’s not too late! Why not take a look at some of the organisations below, and consider adding a little Christmas brightness to the people who struggle to get through this season? It could be a donation, your time, or any other way you want to add support.
Here are some of our ideas:
Contribute food or donations to Australia’s largest hunger relief organisation Foodbank
Give food and toys to Vinnie’s for individuals and families experiencing hardship.
Drop off food and presents to The Exodus Foundation, to support the homeless in your community
Buy one of Oxfam’s Unwrapped gifts to help transform the lives of those living in poverty across the globe
Donate to help Northcott raise funds for play therapy, equipment and speech therapy
Help the Salvos feed 10,000 people in need over Christmas
Go forth and spread a little brightness into the lives of those who are doing it tough this Christmas.
The Salesforce Team would like to wish all a jolly Christmas and a smashing start to 2016!
